This will involve migrating the Tech Soft 3D USA offices away from their current Linux infrastructure towards a Microsoft Server 2008 and Microsoft Exchange 2010 infrastructure for the company that will span and link their 5 geographical locations; Berkeley (CA USA), Bend (OR USA), Staveley (UK), Lyon (France) and Tokyo (Japan).

We are currently working closely with the IT Manager over in Berkeley and the UK team based here in Staveley to make this happen and have a full ‘go live’ date of 16th January 2011.

Threepwood have a head office in Newcastle upon Tyne and satellite officess based in Cheshire & Sheffield.

The brief was to create a ‘virtual office’ environment so that all employees could quickly and easily access data and e-mail from where ever they were in the world. iTek rose to the challenge and implemented a centralised e-mail, data, security and remote access server in conjunction with a Terminal Server as to provide the ‘virtual office’ capability.

Everything went in smoothly and to plan and we are pleased to say that the system is working flawlessly for Threepwood.

Ben recently took a holiday to New York and so managed to get his hands on the iPad while across the pond. We have been thoroughly testing the new iPad and we have to say that it is (as expected) absolutely excellent! The web browsing experience is second to none, battery life is good, e-mail integration with internal Microsoft Exchange or Apple Mail Servers is excellent and it looks and feels fabulous!

We have to say that the new iPad really is worth all the hype. Well done to the developers at Apple, you’ve done it again!!
