We’re proud to be supporting Friends of the Lake District as our Charity of the Year, beginning a year of fundraising, volunteering and conservation projects that give our team the chance to make a positive difference beyond the office.

As a business rooted in Cumbria, we believe it’s important to give something back to the place we call home. Friends of the Lake District has spent almost 100 years protecting and enhancing the landscapes that make this region so special, making them a natural charity for us to support.

Over the coming year, our team will swap keyboards for spades as we get involved in everything from hedge planting and woodland restoration to dry stone walling and fundraising events. It’ll certainly make a change from building firewalls and securing networks, but we’re looking forward to rolling up our sleeves, learning new skills and supporting projects that leave a lasting impact.

“We’re incredibly grateful to iTek for choosing us as their Charity of the Year. Their commitment to supporting the Lake District, and getting hands-on through fundraising and environmental give back days, will make a real difference to our work. We’re excited to partner together and see the positive impact this brings to our landscapes and local communities. Claire Coburn – Fundraising Manager

“We’re used to protecting businesses with IT support and good connectivity, but this partnership gives us the chance to help protect something completely different. Whether it’s fundraising, volunteering or rolling up our sleeves on conservation projects, we’re looking forward to making a positive contribution to a place that’s important to all of us.” Ben Mitchinson, Managing Director

We’re wasting no time getting started. On 12th September, members of the iTek team will be tackling the Born Survivor obstacle course to raise money for Friends of the Lake District. It’s the first fundraising event of our partnership, and every donation will help support the charity’s work protecting the landscapes and communities we all value.

If you’d like to support the team, we’d be incredibly grateful for your donation. You can contribute via our fundraising page.
