Improving connectivity and communications for a veterinary practice

All4Pets is an independent veterinary centre in Leigh, Lancashire, providing care for animals of all sizes, from routine veterinary treatments and hydrotherapy to boarding, grooming and retail services.

As a busy practice, reliable internet connectivity and effective communications are essential to keeping the practice running smoothly. When internet performance began affecting day-to-day operations and the existing phone system had reached the end of its life, All4Pets turned to iTek for advice.

The brief

Slow internet speeds were creating bottlenecks across the practice, while the existing telephony system no longer met the needs of the business.

Before recommending a solution, iTek carried out a full audit of the practice’s internet and telephony infrastructure before presenting a tailored proposal based on its findings.

Our solution

Following the review, iTek commissioned a Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) connectivity solution, providing All4Pets with its own direct fibre connection. The new service increased internet speeds fivefold, removing significant bottlenecks from the day-to-day administration of the practice and improving customer communications.

Alongside the connectivity upgrade, iTek installed a new business firewall to strengthen perimeter security before implementing a hosted VoIP telephone system. The solution incorporated desk phones, mobile phone hardware and app-based softphones, while ensuring the practice retained its existing business phone numbers through a managed number porting process.

On-site training was also provided to ensure the team felt confident using the new system and that the practice’s requirements were fully met.
