An initial audit identified that the firm’s internal server had reached end of life and required urgent replacement, making it the first priority of the new partnership.
Replacing the server was only part of the requirement. Brown Barron wanted to retain an on-premise server environment while improving security, supporting remote working and creating a stable platform for future development.
Working closely with the team at Brown Barron, iTek specified, procured and implemented a new on-premise server before migrating the firm’s data and updating the supporting software platforms.
Alongside the server replacement, iTek migrated the firm’s on-premise email server to Microsoft 365, strengthening email security and improving collaboration. Endpoint security was also enhanced across laptops and desktop computers, while a multi-factor authenticated VPN was introduced to provide secure remote access for the team.
As the relationship has developed, iTek has continued to support Brown Barron with office-wide Wi-Fi improvements, core business software upgrades and an office expansion project.
Replacing the firm’s end-of-life server provided a stable foundation for future improvements while strengthening security across the wider IT environment.
Today, Brown Barron benefits from a modern server infrastructure, Microsoft 365, improved Wi-Fi, enhanced endpoint security and secure remote access, supported by ongoing managed IT support from iTek. The continued partnership has enabled the firm to carry out further technology upgrades while helping minimise downtime and supporting the way the team works.
