About
Age UK South Lakeland are an independent charity within the Age UK network and have been supporting older people in South Lakeland since 1978.
From providing free advice to local older people and their families, to facilitating social groups and events to fight loneliness in our communities, Age UK and their team of 50 staff and 200 volunteers make an invaluable contribution across the region – and iTEK are proud to support them.
Since 2022, iTEK have been Age UK South Lakeland’s IT Support Partner, providing the utmost levels of care and customer support, as well as working to continuously improve the charity’s IT infrastructure and processes.

Business Requirements
Age UK came to iTEK with their local incumbent IT Provider failing to meet their expectations.
The charity was looking for a Support Provider to provide a bespoke service, tailored to their organisation – all underpinned by first-class, highly-responsive support.
Outcomes & Benefits
iTEK delivered a comprehensive, tailored support package based on a strong understanding of the requirement, built through close consultation with Age UK.
This included Helpdesk support and RMM – ensuring that Age UK’s network is monitored and that their users can always access the support they need, when they need it.
On top of the core support provision, iTEK have supported Age UK to move a number of their systems to the Cloud, including email and hosted file storage and collaboration. Cloud-based IT offers a greater standard of reliability and security than the dated, on-premise servers the charity were previously depending on.
Inter-site connections have been further strengthened through a new, robust Firewall solution, while remaining server hardware has been re-located to new head offices, with stronger security measures implemented to ensure security compliance and achieve Cyber Essentials Plus standards.
